Studio/Apartment

A new structure on a difficult site. Built into a steep hillside, this building was designed to accommodate a state-of-the-art commercial graphic arts studio and a second floor apartment for the use of out-of-town clients. Its design was made to complement the historic proportions of the adjacent primary residence. Provisions were made to allow extensive cabling for the many computers to run unobtrusively in the workspaces. Modern framing materials were utilized to create an open floor plan on the first level, while providing good acoustic separation for the apartment above.
